Hirose Satoshi
Milan-based artist Hirose Satoshi is known for his poetic sensibility that transforms everyday materials into works of art, and he is equally well versed in food culture and the art of cuisine. His Beans Cosmos series (2000-) consists of various types of beans, pasta shapes and other foodstuffs, crumpled maps, marbles, and gold chunks floating in blocks of acrylic resin, just like stars scattered across the cosmos. Beans Cosmos (Moon), which was specially fabricated for The Moon, contains milky white natural quartz crystal, which is also known as moon quartz. Quartz is said to possess the power of connecting people to each other, and of promoting a sense of harmony, just like the mythical Greek god Hermes. May enjoyable conversations also never stop flowing here at The Moon, situated between heaven and Earth.
