Poklong Anading
A mirror is a mysterious material that reflects the world. Since ancient times, bronze mirrors have been used in East Asian countries like China, Korea, and Japan. Poklong Anading, who is based in Manila, the Philippines, shoots group photos using mirrors for his Counter Acts series. Anading approaches the models at the location where these images are shot. The sunlight reflected off the mirrors held up in front of their faces has been digitally edited to resemble a constellation ablaze in the night sky. Counter Act V was shot in spring 2015 at Komazawa Park, Yoyogi Park, Hie Shrine, Shibaura Futo, and Tsukiji Outer Market. On display at THE SUN & THE MOON Cafe is the one that were shot at Komazawa Park.
